The Hannah Senesh house

Hannah left for her mission as a member of Sdot Yam Kibbutz. During the fifties, the members of the Kibbutz established a cultural center and a library in her memory. The center is named after her ''Beit Hannah''.

A decade ago, the Kibbutz decided to designate a substantial part of the center for the perpetuation of Hannah's legacy. A memorial hall was opened with an audio-visual presentation (screened in six languages) and a study center for school children. There is also an archive with material gathered throughout the years, and a modest exhibition of items lent by the Senesh family. All these tell the story of Hannah.

Large groups visit the place, including students as well as senior citizens. Throughout the years, the number of visitors from Israel and from abroad has increased and it has become necessary to develop and expand the place and enrich the perpetuation enterprise, while placing the main emphasis on educational activities for teenagers. For this purpose a public foundation has been established which intends to build a new perpetuation center which will feature all the areas of interest and aspects customary in such institutions.
